False advertising - can I get my holding deposit back?
Post Body

I (F30) recently put down a holding deposit for a 6 bed house share advertised as sharing with ‘4 females, 2 males’.

I only met the letting agent at the viewing and none of the other tenants. However, today when I asked if I’d be able to meet the other tenants prior to moving in or if I could get more info about the tenants I was told I’d be sharing with 4 guys and 1 woman.

I was already a little anxious sharing with 2 guys but don’t think I’d be comfortable with 4 other men. Plus I have no say other any future tenants as the letting agency lets out rooms on a first come first served basis.

Since I put down the deposit based on the advert stating 4 women, 2 guys - could I ask for my money back?
