Renewing contract, landlord wants new reference checks... do we have to?
Post Body

We've been renting with the same landlord for the past two years but now the lettings agency has changed to a new company... they want us to go through the whole rigmarole of reference checks again for the new contract. What rights do we have to say no to this?

We've always paid on time and never been problem tenants. We'd prefer not to have to do referencing again.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
