Who’s responsible for pest damages?
Post Body

Hey everyone,

We recently let go of our apartment (5-bed) last week and we’ve stayed at the property for 1 year.

Around a months before we left we encountered rats/mice inside the apartment and we notified our landlord immediately. They sent over pest control which took about 5 weeks to do all the appointments.

However, the rodents have damaged parts of the carpet around the edges/corners.

The rodents were a problem before we came onto the property as there were mouse traps before. When the pest control came, he told us that there were holes/openings underneath kitchen counter which were where they were coming from.

Before I contact the landlord company, are we responsible for the carpet damage?
