There's a glaring difference in cgi quality, yes, but "once upon a time" put out 22 episodes a season, yearly for 7 seasons, with a large cast, a very large cast, and depth in the story line, battles, magical creatures, great costumes, and cgi was used heavily, but I struggle heavily believing that the complexity of HOTD prevents yearly seasons.
In my honest true opinion, I'd prefer a downgrade in cgi quality if it meant we could enjoy HOTD in a timely manner. Big perfect cgi could be saved for cinematic films, and really GOT had heavy cgi and still managed to release yearly. I feel lied to by HBO/max.
