Just finished a rewatch and outside mentioning a couple OTC meds (Benadryl, Tylenol and Aspirin I think), the ONLY prescription drug trade name they used was Vicodin & Lupron, both from AbbVie (Abbott Pharmaceuticals at the time). Every antibiotic, antiinflammatory, chemo drug, sedative, barbiturate, and benzo (except a benzo made, again, by AbbVie) gets generically named.
On top of that, sometimes House's label will have a dispense as written (Vicodin ES) and sometimes Hydrocodone\APAP (generic)
I'm not saying one way or the other but it feels like some pretty shady product placement by AbbVie given they use generic names for literally every other prescription drug and are listed in the credits as providing "promotional consideration"
I don't see the danger in promoting Lupron but... Well. For Vicodin, weird way to tout a product.
I actually thought it added to the authenticity of the show to not use brand names but it's interesting how two out of the three drugs that got name checked are incredibly addictive
EDIT: I was wrong. Cytoxan (Cyclophosphamide) is marketed by Baxter and was name checked once by Rowan Chase in S1 but is otherwise named generically. Still, big diff between a chemo drug and the others.
