Hi 👋 All …So several months back i signed up for The beginners course at Rebelway….NOTHING against the course (it all seemed well presented) but it did not go well for me and it ended up shelving it .I understood SOME of the concepts (i still never REALLY understood attributes though lol) but i just felt like i was throwing one node down after another, hanging on for dear life and i kept laughing to myself saying ‘people actually LEARN this’ lol ? I’m kinda wanting to go back and ‘scale mt. everest ‘ again lol…My question IS , is my experience ‘typical ‘ ? and do people literally Memorize All these massive amounts of nodes (and their order) till they know em’ cold or IS there some underlying ‘theory’ that ultimately starts to make sense ? Any advice ? i also must note i have very little 3d experience overall and wanted to learn houdini to learn VFX (Wasn’t looking to get into modeling or rigging or anything like that ) Any feedback SO appreciated !
Would love to see it when its completed 👍🏻
great advice….cool to hear ya went back to it and had some success ….been almost a year since i shelv’d it and want to to back and try again. my goals with it are VFX and motion graphics (abstract stuff etc )

Thanks So much for the info…I actually took Tylers intro course and thought he presented the material quite well and felt i could get rolling alot better through his courses …Question about Marks course if you dont mind…Its seems to cover alot of motion graphics and ‘abstract’ stuff in houdini which i’d LOVE to learn ( along with VFX) I’ve done several mograph tutorials in C4D but i’m in NO way can say i have ‘control ‘ over it or really ‘know what i’m doing’ lol , but i definitely enjoyed doing mograph in C4D and seemed really intuitive., would love to learn how to do that stuff in houdini..Is marks class gonna be ‘over my head’ ? Or does it start each section by scratch and is somewhat easy to follow ?….(again Rebelway’s beginner course spun my head ever which way lol ) When i watched the trailer it was definitely the kinda stuff i’d love to learn how to create in Houdini…thoughts ?
