Where to go for a first date

Curious as to what others have found works best for a first date.
Requirements
1) Public
2) Quiet enough to chat
3) conducive to a bit of kissing or wondering hands..
I'm thinking some sort big hotel bar/lounge might actually be the best bet...usually have lots of little seating areas.
