Intimacy is not really the right word I would use. Meet ups for me are simply about releasing pent up energy and stress, so there could be some emotions involved but it's more like lust or passion, not intimacy.
But honestly, the first time with someone new tends to be a little awkward as we get to know each other. The real fun comes after meeting up a few times and really having an understanding of what the other likes and wants
