STI Testing

Post Body

What have you all found is a good guideline for STI testing?

Do you require all involved to test regularly? Semi regularly? Do you just ignore tests and rely on condoms? Do you allow fluid exchange?

I’ve been requiring tests for bareback but it occurs to me that I should require a visual of a clean pee AND blood test, as things like HIV, Syphilis, Herpes, and Hep only show in blood work.

I think I should also require a test from the past 3 months as HIV can take 3 months to show?

I’m worried I’m just paranoid because I’ve only ever had one STI (chalmydia) in my life and I hated it. I hated texting all of my partners and advising them. It’s such a crappy feeling. But am I over thinking it? Most STIs aren’t a death sentence anymore…

Tldr; what do yall do to ensure safe sex?

We started asking for testing but we only get tested once a year and don’t usually play around with more than one guy each year anyhow. So now we just ask the guy if they are clean in person and always require condoms.
