Protocols when to cut it off with a guy?

My wife has been playing with the same guy sparingly for the last year and a half. Maybe 4 or 5 times. We’re all friends, but at some point is there a time to cut out the play and look for a new guy? This was her first sexual encounter outside our marriage and it has been great, he’s been super respectful and I have zero complaints. I think a few more times is fine but I feel like eventually it will lose it’s fun because it becomes regular and won’t have the excitement of that first time or two of being something new. Am I over thinking?
