So, my husband was at Cisco Live this year. He was chatting with one of his close friends about her divorce, and she was complaining about how all the guys she's meeting through dating apps are into ethical non-monogamy. He told her about our lifestyle and what we're doing, and they chatted about it a bit.

Fast forward a few minutes. They get over to the food court, where my husband's boss is waiting for both of them. I'm sure Michael expected her to change the subject as they approached yet another person, but she didn't. Right in front of his boss, she asks, "So how do you cope with other dudes fuckin' your wife?" My husband has only been speechless maybe twice in his entire life, and this was one of the times.

This led into a 45-minute, most uncomfortable discussion he has ever had with anybody in his life. Boss had a bunch of questions. Friend had a bunch of questions. They both wanted to talk about their experiences. Boss asked if I was available. Husband was getting angrier and angrier by the second. It's not that it's a huge secret; many of our friends already know. But it's also not something he wanted to discuss with his boss, fucking ever.

How can people be so clueless?
