Me vs other car guys. Let’s take two car guys. They both have spent tens of thousands of dollars and countless hours of labor, and hard work on their projects. When they finish their builds they both have what they see as beautiful intricate works of engineering that they absolutely love.

Guy 1: He takes his car to meets, occasionally races it, but he has used cheap parts and he doesn’t completely trust his build. Guy 1 doesn’t want anyone else to experience or drive his car, because he knows his build is always on the verge of failure and he doesn’t have the confidence that it can last being driven by others. Guy 1 loves his car, but he looks longingly at other cars that he knows are built on a better foundation.

Me: I do all the things with my car. I used all the quality parts in my build. It took me awhile to work out all the small kinks, but I fully trust my build; it is tested, built to last and I know I can throw anything at it and it will survive. My car is beautiful and I love showing it off. I love letting other people take my car for short drives and seeing them experience the same giddy joy that I have when I drive it. I love my car and I can appreciate other builds, but I truly don’t want any other build and I know nothing else would ever bring me as much joy and will never be as beautiful as my own.

I truly love my car more than Guy 1 and sharing it with others only proves that more.
