Hi everyone!
I've started doing enough sichuan cooking that having to buy peppers is becoming cost-prohibitive, largely because there are no Chinese grocery stores in my city so I have to order them online.
So, I'm hoping to take a crack at growing my own, and my understanding is that I should get started on them pretty soon, starting indoors and then moving them out when it gets warmer (I am in Portland, OR, and it's currently 33 and rainy).
However, I'm having trouble finding a good place to get the seeds - I am in particular looking for chao tian jao (facing heaven) and er jing tiao (bullet head) chilis. I occasionally use deng long jiao (lantern chilis) but those are less common in the dishes I make so I am not as hung up on finding those.
Anyone have any vendors they love for such a thing? Worse comes to worst I can order them from the places I usually do and see if the seeds will germinate, but I'd rather get seeds by themselves. Bonus if they have good thai chili peppers, but those are easy to find locally.
Thank you!
