Hey all, would really appreciate feedback on the below. I am correct in assuming that the burned look of the growth tips is sunscald? I am currently growing Lesya, Ajvarski, Jimmy Nardello and Criolla de Cocina. I noticed that the Eastern European varities are easily burned in our tropical sun (Cayman Islands). However, the Jimmy Nardello and Criolla De Cocina seem to be doing fine. I've always had a pretty rough time with sweet peppers and would really like to get all of these breeds through a successful growth cycle. My theory is that each generation of seeds I save will be a bit more accustomed to our growing conditions.
So far, the plant nutrients are as follows:
Soft Rock Colloidal Phosphate
Blood Meal
Top dressing of Langebeinite
Top dressing of fresh earthworm castings
1 DTE Root Zone soil drench (myco innoculant)
2x per week full strength fish emulsion soil drench
This seedling was transplanted around 3 weeks ago, I believe (I promise to start recording this data from here on haha). I see that I've got a bit of an aphid problem and have been treating the plant with bonide neem oil concentrate, diluted as instructions state. I notice the ants are "farming" the aphids. Will look into food-grade diatomaceous earth as well. However, I am wondering if there is anything more I can be doing? I'm also aware of potential transplant shock, so just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
