Jalapeño plant has black buds. Is this normal?

Hi, my jalapeño plant is grow two nice peppers right now. It’s about a foot tall, but after the peppers started to grow the new buds are turning black. Is this normal? I have a few flowers open right now too. A few ants are on the plant but I’ve been using cinnamon and soapy water to combat any aphid farming. Lmk, thanks!
