Thoughts on men in makeup while maintaining masculinity?

Thoughts and feelings on using makeup to highlight or accent masculinity? I would love to see some examples. This is a shoot that I did with my friend Sasha that I absolutely adore however outside of this shoot I haven't gotten a chance to work with photographers that utilize a lot of makeup when shooting the male form.
