Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

I bought this fishbone cactus about a week and a half ago from a local nursery and it looked great day of. 2-3 days later it started to look like this after accidentally being watered 2 days in a row. I called the nursery and they said i had overwatered it and it wasnt from when it was in their care. Is this true? I am very new to this and am still learning
