Does a snaffle need a curb strap?

So I’m wanting to get into western riding and was wondering if I needed a curb strap for my headstall. The bit is an eggbutt snaffle, so I didn’t know if you needed or should use one on a snaffle.

The only use for a curb strap on a snaffle is if you are worried about pulling the bit through their mouth. Curb straps are otherwise not required in a snaffle rig. You will want a throat latch on too though with a snaffle
