I am writing this because I think there will be some people waiting.
On the third day after birth, the foal started lame on one of its hind legs
On the same day, a cow veterinarian applied a cast. The vet assumed it was a sprain.
Six days later, the casted leg began to limp, and the cast was removed to see what will happen.
Anti-inflammatory medication was continuously given by injection during this period.
Posted on Reddit the next day.
This is all about the last post.
This is new content, please understand that there are some guesses.
Finally I found horse vet and an x-ray revealed a fracture in the ankle. (The first cast appears to have been incorrect in diagnosis but correct in treatment)
However, additional septic underskin(?) or septic joint was discovered today. It is difficult to know for sure because the foal is way too small. But he thinks it might be the septic underskin (subcutaneous)
I think the reason her leg went limp again after wearing a cast was because of the septic.
Anyway its with saline solution, bandaged the joint, and put a cast on the ankle.
Thanks to you guys help, for me to contact a horse vet.
Keep us updated on this sweet donk. Septic joints are a serious uphill battle.
