Drove through flooded street - shut off.

Obviously underestimated the depth. ‘19 Civic Si & PRL CAI.

What steps do we take to see if water got in the motor? I’m hoping that water didn’t get sucked upstream and we’ll be ok.

I’m wondering if this is something my local mechanic can diagnose or should I go straight to the dealer.

I’m also concerned if I have to make an insurance claim they might deny it bc of my cai.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Thanks for the tips.. Sounds straight forward.. My mind is too stressed out right now to do this work, I had it towed to the Honda dealership today. The roadservice is through my insurance company, so if anything serious, I can easily file a comprehensive claim...

In another forum I read someone took it to the dealer; they did all the basics; ie change oil a few times, remove coils & plugs, crank engine and they got it going... for about 5 bills..

I checked the oil this morning and it looks fine, not watered down... good sign.

This was totally my fault, unemployed for a couple months, doing uber while I search for a job, I went through a road I normally would've never gone through...all for the $... be careful out there.
