Hey everyone, so this is a bit lengthy, but I currently drive a 2006 Honda Accord 2.4 L, 4 cylinder. Currently, it has 240,000 miles on it with just the P0420 code active for the check engine light (I plan on just using cat cleaner). I’ve maintained my car well, and have replaced all valves, solenoids, stayed on top of tuning, and scheduled part replacement. My key fob finally gave out and literally broke a part and I’ve been having to use my spare key. This past week I’ve noticed that it takes my car an upwards of 20 times to finally turn over and start. I have a weird feeling that it has something to do with the spare key. My battery and leads are less than 4 months old. Now, I haven’t replaced the starter but with the way it starts I don’t think it’s starter related. I’ve had starter issues with past vehicles and this seems different. I’m racking my brain trying to figure out what’s going on because it’s very frustrating. Any idea of what’s going on? I’ve used a lot of money to get my car where it is, but I’m wondering if I should continue pouring money into a car this old, or getting a newer one. I’m open to any suggestions at all or solutions. Thank you!
