[University Characterization] Calculating wt% after removing an element from EDX scan.
Author Summary
Post Body

I have a sample that scans as 9.94% Carbon, 3.81% Oxygen, 84.75% Copper, 1.50% Zn. I need to find the weight% if carbon was removed.

There are not prompts from the instructor. The point is not to learn to calculate it (since it is not something anyone does because software does it), but to find anyway to answer it (I don't get it either but that's what the instructor said).

I know it involves something to do with atomic weights, but other than that nothing. Online resources just say that your EDX software will do it for you.

The answer is 3.70% O, 94.63% Cu, 1.67% Zn.
