[University Statistics] Least Angle Regression
Author Summary
Post Body

I have 20 Independent Variables each of which has 3 possible answers (yes, no, or maybe) I have a population of 35 students, each of whom got a score between 1-10 on a test (with no decimals possible). I need to see which of those independent variables are positively or negatively correlated with test score and ideally which ones are the most powerful predictors.

The independent variables seem logically connected to me as, for example, one IV is living in America and another IV is being a baseball player (which seems connected to me by probability). I do not know if that is what statistics means by "logically connected"

Anyways, my question is if a least angle regression is an appropriate way to figure out what IVs correlate and how powerfully. I don't speak statistics, but this writeup made me think it might be.
