Post Body

Teacher gave us a math assignment and then an answer key to check our work. On one of the problems i thought i was done and i had my answer but apparently there were several more steps. I don't understand what is being done. Here's the steps. I understand everything up to the part where there is now a 1 in front of the square root (Second to last step).

Can someone tell me what is being done right there and why?
