Red-Headed Step Child Herbs
Post Body

Ok, so I threw some herb seeds in some pots last year. Some of them were abandoned and just left out over the winter. Both the Chive plant and the Thyme plants are going to flower.

I have no goal here as I had assumed these all dead long ago. I have no goal here except to learn. I know stress can force plants to flower, but what's going on here? Are the chives and thyme going to die out after this cycle?

I also think it worth mentioning that a Marjoram plant survived, which is supposed to be an annual in Zone 5.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me, explain it a little?
