Maple extract
Post Body

I brewed a seasonal beer and wanted a hint of maple. I decided to try the extract route since the homebrew shop had a small bottle, it would save me a trip to the grocery store for syrup. The label said 4oz per 5 gallon. I was making 10 gallons so I thought that would dilute it sufficiently.

I added to 4 oz to my 10 gallons near the end of boil. But it’s was extremely potent. I may have ruined this batch. The smell is overwhelming and I could barely even tolerate tasting my gravity sample.

Does anyone have experience with using this? Is the maple-ness going to die down?
