Looking to convert my old pc into an Adblock and traffic routing/vpn server

This is my first time trying something like this, I was going to follow a tutorial to set up a home server using unraid, but I don’t know if I can achieve all these goals simultaneously on one machine. I would also hopefully like to control it remotely, but if this isn’t achievable for free it’s not a huge priority. Do I need to use a raspberry pi? Any advice?
