Routers bottlenecking??

Post Body

Hey! So I have a Huawei HG813A5 ONT from my ISP. That said, obviously I have an optical fiber cable (siglemode) coming from my wall. I have a 1GB plan at my ISP but because the ONT they provided wasn't cabable of providing that speed I purchased a new router. It's a TP-LINK A8 Archer AC1750. Since it doesn't have a fiber port I just connected the routers with an Rj45 Ethernet cable. One end in one of the ONT's LAN ports, the other end in the TP-LINK's Internet (WAN) port. It's working perfectly, I get over 300 Mbps/s wireless and over 650 Mbps/s on my PC with a wired connection but the wired connection seems a little unstable. For example, when downloading a game, it's going like 40 MB/s for several minutes but then it drops below 10 MB/s and sometimes even to 0 for a few seconds. I've read about it and I got to a conclusion that the routers are bottlenecking. I think switching the ONT to bridge mode will solve the problem but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
