New home with shed in backyard. Better to hardwire Ethernet out there or use an access point?
Post Body

Moved into a new home today (in this market, amiright?) and have to start over on networking. But I have a shed this time that the previous owner fixed up. It is two stories and if my dreams become reality I would convert the downstairs portion into a gym (they already converted the floor to gym mats and placed mirrors on the walls), but the upstairs I would convert into a streaming/office set up.

The shed has power, but it was an older couple who owned the home previously and didn’t care for internet capabilities in the backyard.

The ATT modem is located in the front of the house, where you immediately enter the front door. It is a good 300ft away.

Is it worth the hassle installing a hard cable or doing some access points as close as possible? What router/AP brands can compete in speed and lack of interruption that Ethernet cables provide? Keep streaming in mind.

P.S. main house would still have about two dozen devices connected as well. Thanks!
