Upgrading drives in NAS

Post Body

Was recently given an old Buffalo Terastation, model is ts-x4.0tl. currently it has 2, 2TB drives in it, in raid 1 I believe (still trying to learn, eventual goal is a file/Plex server for all my media a couple close friends and my household can use). Once I get it set up, it'll connect to my old Dell poweredge and make for a pretty sweet home setup imo.

Anyway, if possible, I'd like to upgrade to 2 much larger drives, so I just have the one, small, , enclosed unit that will house the 6-10 TB of files I'd like to host. Is this feasible? Or should I look into building some sort of diy solution? I don't mind spending a bunch of time configuring, learning etc, as if it's a possibility, it would be a whole lot cheaper than custom building something.
