Hey y’all so I’m a tech dummy, in all honesty. I bought a WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra to use for storage. I design for work and need a reliable file storage system and this sounded like it fit my needs. I really just need a large storage system that is capable of redundancy and wireless file sharing across multiple Apple devices, as well as time machine backups. Basically I’m trying to make this work very similarly to iCloud, but my own private server.
So far it’s just not performing well for me. Frankly, it’s a bit above my tech skill level. Files are spotty to upload and it automatically rearranged my files. For example all of my images were moved into the same share as my iPhone photo stream. I have all of my design work grouped by project and the wonky file management is just not gonna cut if.
I’m not experienced enough to know how to make this thing work correctly. And could really use some help or at least to be pointed in the right direction to make my network happen.
Thanks in advance!
