I've seen a lot of places suggest that smart devices like Google Home are recommended to stay on the 2.4ghz network due to better reach, but due to SOMETHING (I'm not sure what exactly), I'm having a hell of a time getting everything to stay connected on a mesh system of two routers hardwired to each other. I'll tweak the network a bit, shuffle channels, toggle some settings, and sometimes the speakers will work a few weeks before starting to cut out again when I'm sharing to the entire house.
One hypothesis I have is that the 2.4ghz range is too crowded in my area - I can pick up something like two dozen unique networks from my home - if that's the case, could switching my speakers to 5ghz help me out?
I'm not too concerned about the speed of other devices on that network because anything wireless that I care about is on a separate WiFi 6 network, and my most important computers are all hardwired. I just wanted to check with the experts before I took the time to "forget" all of my devices and set them up again, which is gonna be a minor pain in the butt.
I'm also willing to entertain whatever advice people have to get these Google Homes stable on my network. I'm on two Asus RT-AX92U mesh routers wired to each other via ethernet.
