Background:
I have experience with workstations, but not so much with servers or network configurations. I have minimal Linux experience. I have my A Cert (circa 2007). I have (see Specs below), and I would like my (see Content below) to be accessible by most devices, only from within my LAN. I'd like to be able to move files from my phones and tablet to the network storage, and also access the storage from the Rokus, TVs, and other connected devices to play videos, music, view files. Printing from our phones would be a bonus. Streaming from/to devices would be good. I previously plugged in a 32GB USB thumbdrive into the router to experiment with that as an option for network storage, but it is flaky at best and the mapped share frequently vanishes from the networked computers. I'm seeking a low-power-consumption option for hosting about 2TB. No more than 6 connected devices are in use at any given time. Simpler is better, but I do appreciate flexibility and features. Security is a must.
Question:
What (hardware software) setup would this subreddit recommended for me to accomplish what I'm seeking?
