This coming fall, I'm moving into a large ~4500 sqft house with 10 other housemates (11 people total) and we're trying to figure out what the best wireless solution would be for our needs.
Because our school is online this semester (and possibly in the spring) we suspect we'll need a large amount of bandwidth for all of our needs, particularly simultaneously streaming lectures and video calling for classes.
As far as location goes, Spectrum is really the only option as far as speeds and reliability go. We're considering going with their Gigabit plan to accommodate our needs.
The biggest question that remains is what hardware setup should we pursue to get reliable wifi throughout the house? One problem we have is that the house is old and does not have ethernet wired throughout the walls. I personally plan on using a Powerline adapter to get ethernet to my desktop since I work a lot with video content and will need to download a lot of media.
Let me know if y'all have any suggestions or advice on how to make the most out of our situation. Cheers!
