In my three story home, the FIOS enters through the basement. Two floors above in our bedrooms, we barely have decent speed to transfer files from our NAS where we do regular backups. NAS seats next to our main router in basement. What is my best option to improve speed of the network between NAS and our desktop computers in second floor? [it's in US, so, basement->first floor->second floor]
So far I tried a netgear AV2 compatible powerline adapter and max I get is about 130MBPs, far less than advertised gigabit speed. According to the adapters, my signal quality is very good (above 80MBPs). Is there anyway to improve these connectivity? Our house was build in 2000 with good electrical circuits.
{My other alternative is mesh, which I am reluctant to try. And the most expensive solution would be installation of CAT6 cable from basement to first and second floors.}
