Help with Future Set Up
Post Body

Hello all, thanks in advance for your help.

To describe my current set up, my modem is an Arris surfboard (I believe its SB6190), my router is an Asus RT-68U and I have 100Mbps through Spectrum. I have about a ~2000sqft home with a second floor and a basement with the router location on the first floor. I often use the internet for streaming (4K), some online gaming, and average surfacing; my wife also uses the internet for streaming and surfing, usually at the same time.

Most of my issues come from signal strength and not speed. Some of the issues I'm running into are poor signal in the master bedroom, less than desired signal strength in the kitchen and I would like more signal out in the back yard.

Where I need help is my path forward. I cant decide between getting the Orbi AC3000 package (3 pack from Costco) and getting another Asus router and combining them using the AiMesh system. I dont necessarily need the 3 pack but I want the AC3000 routers and the 3 pack from Costco makes more sense price wise. If I were to get another Asus router, I would probably get the AC3100 or the AC86U.

Does anyone have any experience with Orbi or the AiMesh system that they would care to share?

One of the questions I have has to deal with the AiMesh and MU-MIMO. The RT-68U does not have the capability for MU-MIMO but the router I would get does. Would I be able to capitalize on the MU-MIMO feature if only of the Asus routers that are meshed have it?
