Did I do this right?

Set up my home network. Speed seems fine, it only crashes and needs a reset maybe once a month. Saw a post about someone claiming their Deco was throttling ethernet speeds. I set the Deco as the main router instead of the AP as it claimed to have better security, not sure how true that is. Can/should I move the router between the modem and main Deco? I have the wifi turned off on the router due to it being right next to the deco, I'm basically using it as a switch since I got it before the Decos.
