Speed Descrepancy

Hi i'm paying for 1gb internet, my gateway test is giving me 450mb/s online, but my real world dowload speed updating games is not even 100mb/s. It's typicaly closer to 40mb/s. I have a true cat8 cable plugged into a 2.5gb chip on the motherbordand. My wifi is getting 1200ish mb/s. What could be causing the slow speed on my pc?
