Post Body

When i spoke to my ISP today they said it seems my router is missing certificates and i needed to replace my router, there are some important questions i would like to know. 1. Is this something i should be concerned about? As far as I understand if they’re talking about a PKI then is this related to a security breach? Does it affect my routers firewall? 2. Why can’t they download a certificate or assign a new certificate via fiber optic? 3. Do i have to use the assigned router/modem or can i use my own until the replacement gets here?

Router model: Zyxel 3510XZ ISP: centurylink Router is connected to internet and sending and receiving packets but not connecting to any domain or 3rd party servers
