WiFi mesh: assume I can use Ethernet port for device connectivity instead of backhaul?
Post Body

I'm planning to use a wifi mesh so that I can connect a PC by Ethernet cable to an access point which is only connected to the router by WiFi. The PC has unreliable wifi, even after trying a few network adapters, but the location has strong wifi--other devices here run great.

The ads in seeing for setups like TP Link desco s4 mention they have ports you can use for backhauling. But I don't want to run cable from the router to the access point. Does that mean that's the only function of these ports or will they work fine to connect my PC to the network?
