How to remote access my homelab thru vpn

I have an expressvpn subscription, my router is thru the isp and I have a regular home network (wired and wireless). Is that enough to set my homelab up for remote access? Ideally I want to rdp to my home pc and get to my homelab. Even better if I can get to the homelab directly
The tutorials on the expressvpn site are meant for streaming. I set up ddns thru dynu but that’s as far I got. Anyone had a similar setup can point me to a link or just give some general instructions? TIA
