Hi,
I recently got a GoCoax MoCA adapter to resolve my internet issues for my home office. I have coax outlets in every room. The cable router that I received from my internet provider is connected in the living room via the co-ax cable and feeds internet to the tv via the Ethernet cable. All other devices are connected via Wi-Fi. Needless to say, the speed deteriorates when connecting my home office laptop to the Wi-Fi and this is evident in my meetings. To combat this, I got a gocoax adapter to connect it directly to my pc from the coax outlet in the home office. The adapter doesn’t lit up the coax indicator and the internet is unidentified when connected via a LAN cable. The error i get on my laptop when running a diagnosis is: “Ethernet 2 does not have a valid IP configuration”
And the layout is something like this:
Living Room:
Coax outlet —> Router —> TV via Ethernet and other devices via Wi-Fi
Home Office:
Coax outlet —> GoCoax adapter —> PC via Ethernet
I tried connecting the moca adapter in the living room, so: Coax outlet —> moca adapter —> router via Ethernet, and I still can’t get the MoCA indicator to light up on the adapter, and therefore no internet. Please let me know what am I missing and if it’s possible to directly connect the MoCA adapter to pc without a router in between. This is the first time I’m trying out a MoCA adapter to receive those lightning speeds to resolve my internet connections during the meetings - but to no avail! Please help!
Edit: Only using 1 MoCA adapter, not sure if that could be the issue - as mentioned above, tried connecting it to the router in the living too but the MoCA light remains unlit.
