Adding a switch, best practices?
Post Body

We ran out of ports on our home wifi router, so I added a 16 port switch, I was wondering would it be better to plug all the wired connections into the switch with one connection to the router, or leave most of them in the router, or does it not really matter?? Is a gigibit switch limited globally to 1GBPS or can it have 8 independent conversations at 1GBPS? Sorry if this looks like a newb question, I'm just old and out of the loop lately.
