Cracks and bigger holes in the concrete of the front porch red brick steps

Power washing guy came and did a fantastic job for us. When I expressed concern about the holes in the concrete in the front door steps he suggested that I buy some mortar mix from Home Depot. How do I tuck that mix in the tiny crevices please? How do I go about fixing what you see in the picture in the best way please? Do I need to call a mason?
