Hubs: 2 Apple TV 4K, 2 Home Pod Mini, all updated to 16.4.1 All firmware is current for the following - 5 Nanoleaf bulbs, 1 Nanoleaf Shapes, all with thread. 5 Meross switches, 6 Meross outlets. 2 Wemo outlets with thread. 1 AP2 air purifier thread/Bluetooth ONLY HK model
Per the title, my 3 node Velop AC6600 had HomeKit security turned ON since it was an available option and all devices and automations worked smoothly, thread and non-thread alike.
Recently upgraded to a 3 node Velop AX4200, updated the firmware, turned on HomeKit security (mimicked the AC6600 setup exactly). Thread devices started showing the spinning wheel in the Home app for ~20 seconds before turning on or off. This delay has also rendered automations broken on thread devices only. All non-thread devices and automations continued to work fine.
Did a lot of troubleshooting already: logged in and out of both Apple TVs and reset both Home Pod Minis. Power cycled all thread devices. Did this when Velop had HK security on and also when off. The thread devices became immediately responsive when HK security was off, however all other devices are connecting reliably when HK security is on.
I know there’s been criticism of Linksys’ products lately, but I’ve had 25 years of good luck with them, so I went with what I knew. Please don’t comment just to say Linksys sucks and buy something else.
My current theory is that it’s thread related and could be an order of operations issue when turning on certain functionality. If anyone has any thoughts or is experiencing the same, I’d love to hear your fix or troubleshoot with you.
