New basement foundation water leak
Post Body

Put an addition on my house and added to my basement as well. Where the new foundation meets the old one, there is water leaking in. I was able to seal the corner seam inside with hydraulic cement and that worked well, but the water just comes in a different spot to the right.

I was thinking of rather than a traditional French Drain, that I could drill some holes in the bottom block. Then on the slab create a channel for the water to flow to the sump. The channel would be a small concrete barrier, filled with gravel. Then topped with concrete. It will follow the red line in the picture and look like a concrete small step when it’s done. Any thoughts on this? picture
