Hubs and I have been DIYing a kitchen reno since the end of June. Counters took forever, finally got them in and the sink, my dad has done many sinks before so he pieces together the main drain part, and we hired a plumber at the beginning of the demo just to get rid of a lot of the old 1950s plumbing under there.
Well today I finally had time to put together the final pieces of the sink drain and it’s now leaking in 2 places. Both the parts I didn’t do. The connection line the plumber put in from the main sewer line to the PVC has a very very slow leak. The actual drain piece my dad put in has a pretty big leak. He did put silicone in there somewhere but id be lying if I said i was paying attention when he did it. But initially when we were running the water it wasn’t leaking until we had only the hot water on. Photos for a visual
I’d feel dumb hiring a plumber for something I should be able to figure out but also I can’t figure it out. 😠Is there an easy fix or do I need to take apart the entire thing and go from there?
Side note I know accordion piping isn’t ideal but the sink drain and drain line were off by like 2.5 inches and this worked given the cramped spacing. And all the extra water lines are because of the water filter. Please be nice 😅
