Replacing light fixture under soffit but is this old metal mount for?
Post Body
I'm removed one of these square flush lights and found the above metal mount underneath (I'm replacing the flush light and replacing it with one of these security lights with a dome base).
What was the original purple of that mount? If I can, I will leave it in place, assuming the screw for the new light fixture is long enough to go all the way up and through that mount...
But how would I be able to remove that metal mount anyway? I couldn't see any screws holding it into place...
