A few years back we had a winterization upgrade, and a seam of the vapor barrier has collapsed where they apparently didn't tape it up sufficiently enough. With so many options of tape, it's not so simple to discern what is going to be the most effective for the long-term task of keeping it together so I don't have to risk being eaten by the mutant giant spider-dust bunnies again for the next decade. I assume i know I want tape.... 6in wide? Most particularly I could use advice & guidance with the kind of adhesive is best for staying stuck on the vapor barrier, and if the tape should utilize any particular manner of form of the various strength reinforcement options. Butyl tape? Polyethylene tape? Epoxy resin tape? Etc etc etc..... By personal experiences, what works the best? Please and thank you.
