Paver Polymeric Sand Patch

Cambridge paver patio was just lightly power washed. Now some areas need to be filled back in with polymeric sand. I know it’s thought to patch in polymeric sand. Was thinking of adding concrete binding agent to the joint first. Has anyone ever tried this and will it work?
